SPIDER
"Youth Insurance" (re-release)
cd
(br-020)
Classic, nascent punk replete
with raw guitars, lo-fi bile simmer-before-the-explosion
vocals and a rhythm section delivering with the velocity
and energy of a full throttle jackhammer. SPIDER's
songs convey primal emotion with an old school punk
noise flavor. The songs are snapshots of life that cover
everything from the bitter sweetness of wisdom gained,
control lost or someone having wield it over you, self-reflection
and humor-- For fans of music thats occasionally dark,
sometimes sleezy, sometimes angry, sometimes humorous
and sometimes all of the above. SPIDER delivers
a solid release getting back to punk's original spirit
through conviction, humor and lack of ego. Play at max
volume.
REVIEW:
"Spider brings it fast and furious as many of the
Long Beach bands do so well. Ther sound is a mixture
of 80's LA punk rock and Red Alert or The Exploited.
Musically their sound is raw and they get the point
across loud, clear, and in your face! The production
is not over the top, but for this kind of music it does
the job without having to be super polished. IE their
not trying to be Green Day! Check out Spider, they rock
!"
