THE NIPPLES
"Weekend Toys"
cd
(br-040)

The newest release from all the kiddies favs' THE NIPPLES takes you on a ride through the eyes of America's disgruntled youth. Albeit these guys are not youth's anymore. The relentless attack of Nipples songs can be felt on such soon to be classics like "Numb", "Social Elite", "Exurbia", and the title track "Weekend Toys." Having grown up in a era of such debacle, the Nipples sing about topics that still relate to the growing Punk Rock community. Whether it be tackling such controversial issues as trying to live a life without underwear, or being attacked by that menacing gang of misfits the "Garbage Pail Kids", The Nipples put things into a light that any youngster or teen can understand and appreciate. These 22 songs featured on this cd can be enjoyed on any staple of audio indulgence. Although popular mainstream America has chose digital to be it's way of consumption these days, the Nipples would have much preferred the opportunity to have given these 22 tracks a proper burial on any black 180 gram vinyl record or even the lovely hiss from an 8-track player. Just like their youth, time has seemed to have passed them by. Maybe that lends it reasons for the band to be such controversial subjects on playgrounds today. Oh and did we mention there's guest appearences from members of the legendary NIP DRIVERS, THE DYSFUNCTIONALS, THRETNING VERSE & BORN ON SUNSET.

REVIEW:
"This is absolutely fucking awesome and I don't throw that word around. I'm not one of these people that rates average shit as awesome...it's got to grab me by the throat and get inside me and THE NIPPLES do just that. Fantastic old school hardcore punk with the sickest vocals. No shouting, no growling just a killer high-pitced voice that's got so much balls.the vocals actually remind me of early AFI when Davey Havok's voice was great mixed with a young and hardcore Mike D, a young a nasal GG Allin and Tom from MINOR DISTRURBANCE and all with the stabbines of Jesse Luscsious. The vocals are what tip this band over the edge for me. Don't think for a second that the music is in any way boring, it's just that topped with the vocals the whole thing is elevated enormously. I love it when a vocalist doesn't have to put on some gravelly 'punk' voice or hardcore yell or whatever and still sound tough and urgent. There is a touch of early AFI musically too in here with lots of speeding up and slowing down but not in lame way. The songs are super short and there's 22 of the fuckers on here and all in 25 minutes. I think these guys recorded my dream record, this is the shit and again, I don't fuck around- THIS IS AWESOME."
