REVIEW:
This is the first volume in a series of comps from the fine folks at Basement records & they are off to one hell of a start! Rather than just a label sampler, this is a collection in the tradition of Rodney On The ROQ, Buried Alive & Old Skars & Upstarts featuring previously unrleased songs by new lesser known (for now!) Punk bands from all over the world. Hardly a dud a 23 songs here with highlights including the melodic but still powerful punk from Bobot Adrenaline & Mongrel, straight up punk rock & roll from Dawn Patrol, Barbie & the Hookers and the Ruins, the metal influenced hardcore of It's Casual & Killing California to some killer old school hardcore from the likes of the Reticents, Alligators, Bullet Treatment & Piss Pops. It's all here & I'm really looking forward to future volumes in this series, but this one will be hard to beat! Keep 'em coming! - LOUD FAST RULES!
