VULTURES UNITED
"Dirt Hearts"
cd
(br-048)

Orange County, California’s VULTURES UNITED may possibly be the saviors of the almost non-existent Southern California punk/hardcore scene. Not many punk and hardcore enthusiasts have seen a band this explosive in years. Inspired by 80’s punk hardcore acts Black Flag and Minor Threat, they also draw influences from 90’s punk and hardcore acts The Nerve Agents, Swing Kids, The Murder City Devils, Refused, Dead Low Tide, Kid Dynamite and even more current acts like The Bronx, Hot Snakes, Every Time I Die, The Hives, Some Girls, Queens Of The Stone Age and Paint It Black. Of course, these are all just influences. Roll all of those bands up, add a suburban upbringing, real life frustrations like having to grow up and be responsible, having a full time job, going to school to make something of yourself and just living the American nightmare, and there you have it. The reality of VULTURES UNITED: Destroyed amplifiers, guitars through windows, smashed drums and blown out vocal chords. There are those who follow and those who forge their own path. Not to say that didn’t get a little help from their friends. UK (and Epitaph Records/Warner Brothers Records) sensations GALLOWS, took them on the West Coast leg of their United States headline tour, amongst the ranks of This Is Hell (Trustkill Records) and Canada’s Cancer Bats. They recently embarked on their first ever tour of the United Kingdom with friends, The River Card from Stoke, UK.

For fans of.............Gallows, Minor Threat, & The Bronx

REVIEW:
Every time VULTURES UNITED releases another song, it gives me a reason to not hate music. In a day and age when being the same is celebrated rather than rallied against, in a time when sounding like everyone else makes you money but robs you of self respect, VULTURES UNITED is a reminder that there is still some truly, honest, passionate people in bands. When I first heard them a few years back, going by a different, much longer name, I was blown away. It was like someone had kicked me in the gut and knocked the wind out; I was sold. Here we are, some years later, and these dudes continue to deliver the punishing hardcore punk rock like nobody else. The anger in Jordan's voice is second to none, and the intensity in the music is unmistakable. If the music doesn't make you angry, you're dead. And if the fact that this is an EP doesn't make you even more angry, you're fucked .
